The Second-Stage Clinker Line of 1MT Cement Construction Project of Mongolia Achieved Successful Ignition
The Second-Stage Clinker Line of 1MT Cement Construction Project of Mongolia Achieved Successful Ignition
Source: CTIEC Date: June 13, 2016 The second-stage clinker line cement construction project ofMongolia, with an annual output of 1 million tons of cement production and contracted by China Triumph International Engineering Co., was successfully ignited according to the plan on June, 10th. As an important step in the overall construction in Mongolia project, the successful ignition of the second stage of the project indicates that the project will officially enter the stage of overall and regular production. This is a pilot project for the Belt and Road initiative and “Going Global” strategy of China’s building materials industry. The successful construction and the operation of the project will not only lay a solid basis for the global development of building materials and cement industries, but also promote the building materials industry and the local economic development in Mongolia.  The project construction suffered from low temperature, extreme coldness and blizzard and other extreme weather that occur only once-in-a-century in Mongolia since its inception. In March, the local temperature was still below 30 degrees, creating a major obstacle for the project construction. Meanwhile, since this year is the election year of the Mongolia, complex local political environment led to the difficulties in ensuring the progress of the project construction. Faced with obstacles such as the huge remaining engineering quantity, restricted work visa, more than 1/3 shortage of the planned staff and delayed work resumption of more than a month, the project department reasonably makes full use of local labor resources through wise staff deployment and prioritizing key routes and shift work. After painstaking efforts, the goal set up by China United Cement Co., of “ensuring the long-term and steady operation through one-off ignition” was realized successfully.

CNBM' German Subsidiary Avancis Renews Record in Conversion Efficiency of CIGS Thin-film Modules
CNBM' German Subsidiary Avancis Renews Record in Conversion Efficiency of CIGS Thin-film Modules
Source: CNBM Date: May 16, 2016 Recently, the German CIGS producer Avancis announced the development of a 300mm×300mm CIGS small thin-film solar cell in its Munich R&D center with a record conversion efficiency of 17.9%. Avancis said that the technology can be transferred soon into the 1m2 standard component with a power of 170Wp. Avancis, as a developer of thin film solar technology, has been making breakthroughs in its CIGS thin-film PV cell and CdTe technologies. It achieved an efficiency of 17.9% for PV module with a lighting area of 622 cm2, and that set a new record, higher than the 16.5% efficiency previous achieved by TSMC, a Taiwan semiconductor giant, as well as the 16% efficiency of Manz, another high-tech equipment manufacturer in Germany. This component with record high efficiency will be put into production in the Torgau factory of Germany where the deadband of CIGS cell will be reduced mainly by decreasing the cell width, optimizing the ZnO layer and aluminum positive contact and improving laser ablation. The CIGS module is suitable for application in confined space (such as the roof), which previously has been adopting crystalline silicon technology. This technology of Avancis has been certified by the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE). Avancis was acquired by CNBM in 2014. Avancis technology, with its elegant jet black design is particularly suitable for application in BIPV project that CNBM is also interested. In addition, Avancis components do not contain any cadmium, having advantages in environmental protection when used on facades and roofs.
